Synthesising the findings of several European projects focusing on the implementation of policy-based and technological abatement measures for clean and sustainable shipping, their environmental benefits, trade-offs and business potential has been one of the main tasks of CSHIPP. In order to share the outputs and to instigate further discussion, we now invite interested stakeholders and target group representatives to join a webinar on Friday, the 27 of November 2020 at 9.00 –12.10 CET to discuss the recent and upcoming IMO legislation targeting reduction of emissions of pollutants and climate impact from international shipping.

The webinar focuses on the impacts of the selected policies, the assessment of the technology-based options available for the shipping sector to comply with their targets, as well as the options of the international community to enforce the legislation in a way that ensures compliance, and the benefits of these environmental measures for air quality, water quality, and climate, including human health and well-being. The webinar also strives to identify major knowledge gaps and to discuss potential solutions.

Each of the three sessions of the webinar will include 20 min discussion of the session’s topics where questions from the moderators and from the participants will be discussed. Before the webinar, participants will receive background material developed in CSHIPP for the discussions. Input from the participants is important for the final synthesis report and a policy brief on clean shipping policies which will be prepared by CSHIPP.

The agenda of the webinar is available HERE (please note that changes are possible).
